Amanda Field was born in Los Angeles and lives in Brooklyn. Her video, Lockdown, appeared online at Mother Jones in November 2018, garnered 200K+ views & was re-tweeted by Senators Elizabeth Warren (MA) and Chris Murphy (CT), as well as Shannon Watts of Moms Demand Change. Her photographs have shown in group exhibitions in New York at Public Swim, Aronson Gallery, Photoville & Court Street Collective. Her writing has appeared in literary magazines including Ploughshares, POOL & McSweeney's Internet Tendency, and her poems were included in the anthology, As If It Fell From the Sun. She was managing editor of ZYZZYVA: the journal of West Coast artists & writers and poetry editor of Chicago Quarterly Review. She has taught courses in art and writing at Parsons School of Design, California College of the Arts, Chabot College, San Jose State University, University of San Francisco & Brandeis University.
