Amanda Field was born in Los Angeles and lives in Brooklyn. Her photographs have shown in group exhibitions in New York at Public Swim, Aronson Gallery, Photoville and Court Street Collective. Her writing has appeared in literary magazines including Ploughshares, POOL and McSweeney's Internet Tendency, and her poems were included in the anthology, As If It Fell From the Sun. In 2018, her project, Lockdown Drill, appeared online at Mother Jones and garnered 200K+ views & re-tweets from Senators Elizabeth Warren (MA) and Chris Murphy (CT) as well as Shannon Watts of Moms Demand Action. She was managing editor of ZYZZYVA: the journal of West Coast artists & writers and poetry editor of Chicago Quarterly Review. She has taught courses in art and writing at Parsons School of Design, California College of the Arts, Chabot College, San Jose State University, University of San Francisco and Brandeis University.
